As part of the Dementia Platform UK (DPUK), the University of Edinburgh secured funding from the MRC to install Scotland’s first PET MR system in Edinburgh. Image The Siemens Biograph mMR system is based at the Edinburgh Imaging facility (QMRI) and has been operational since January 2017. PET MR technology combines the structural and functional characterisation of tissue provided by MRI with the extreme sensitivity of PET imaging. This makes PET MR an excellent tool for dementia research, as well as cardiovascular research, oncology and many other areas of imaging research. Who to contact?
